I LOVE being a wife and mother... but, you know, sometimes it's hard work.
I feel like (for ME!) it's pretty easy to be a wife most of the time, a little harder to be a mom, and really hard to be a wifemom. Am I the only one who feels that way? It's so hard to have a conversation with my husband when our children are constantly interrupting... and it's also so hard for me to be patient about the interruptions again and again.
Sometimes we need to discuss this bill or figure out these plans and the very last thing we want to do is field yet another request for superheroes... but then sometimes I can't spend any more time talking about what happened at work today when one of my children is clearly emotional and needing me.
Tightropes and Teeter-Totters was a pretty good book that focuses on finding balance in marriage and motherhood. Nobody is perfect and nobody can achieve it all--and especially not all at once--which is sometimes hard to remember! There were also tips for finding balance when you're just in a bad mood kinda funk.
I had never hard of Lisa Pennington before but I liked her writing style and liked what she had to say so I will definitely be checking out her other book too!
